Overview

Alain marries Virginie in the crypt of the Saint-Joseph du Mont-Royal Oratory. It looks like it will be the happiest day of his life – of their life. Everyone is there, the parents of the bride, the great friend, the parents of the narrator – Lebanese from Egypt who immigrated to Quebec thirty years ago, divorced for twenty, who have not spoken to each other for ten.
